By using card-games.nz you accept these terms. Please read them before you use the site. Their purpose is to make clear what the site is, and what it is not.

About the site
card-games.nz is an independent information site about card games, written for readers in New Zealand. The site is represented by the website’s owner.
Our purpose is to provide neutral, fact-based information about how games are played. We don’t sell games, we don’t operate or arrange games for money, and we don’t accept stakes.
Information only, not advice
The content on card-games.nz is general and informative in nature. It is not advice, an encouragement to gamble, or a recommendation of any particular game, product, retailer or gambling operator.
Strategy notes in our guides describe how a game works and how it is commonly played. They are not a promise of any result. Any decision to play a game for money is always your own, made at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
We aim for all information to be accurate and current, and we fact-check against reliable sources. Even so, details can become outdated or contain errors, for example when a publisher issues a new edition of a game or changes its rules.
Many traditional card games are also played with house rules that differ from table to table. The version described on our site may not match the one used at your table, your club or a particular tournament.
We therefore give no guarantee that the content is always complete, correct or up to date. Rules, prices, product availability, age limits and similar details should always be checked against the official source before you rely on them.
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, we are not liable for any loss or damage that arises from relying on information on the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under New Zealand law that cannot be excluded.
Links to other websites
The site may contain links to external websites, such as game publishers, retailers, government agencies and support organisations. We are not responsible for the content of those sites or for how they handle personal information.
A link to an external site is not a recommendation. It is there because the site may be a relevant source of further information.
Age limits and responsible gambling
Most of the games covered on card-games.nz are played for fun and are suitable for all ages. Some, including poker, blackjack and baccarat, are also played for money. Our guides to those games are written for adults.
In New Zealand you must be 20 or over to gamble in a casino. The minimum age is 18 for betting with the TAB, for Instant Kiwi tickets and for gaming machines (pokies) in pubs and clubs. Games of chance should be treated as entertainment, never as a way to earn money.
If you, or someone close to you, is having trouble with gambling, help is available. The Gambling Helpline offers free, confidential support 24 hours a day on 0800 654 655, by text on 8006, and at gamblinghelpline.co.nz. You will find more information on our responsible gambling page.
Intellectual property
The content on card-games.nz, including text and graphics, belongs to the website’s owner unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to link to our pages, but the content may not be copied or republished without permission.
Game names, logos and trademarks mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners. We refer to them only to describe the games, and card-games.nz is not affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in our privacy policy and our cookie policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. By continuing to use the site, you accept the terms in force at that time.
If you have any questions about these terms, you are welcome to get in touch through our contact page or at [email protected].
